Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia's strongest all-round family base because the wider Klang Valley supplies breadth: schools, hospitals, jobs, airports and established international communities. That same scale makes 'living in KL' meaningless until school, home and work are placed on the same map.

Is Kuala Lumpur a good family base?
KL is the safest Malaysian default for families with several non-negotiables. Emergency
Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur publishes 24/7 emergency and ambulance services including paediatric emergencies. Direct billing depends on the insurer/hospital arrangement and may require a guarantee letter; know the self-pay fallback.
Escalation
KL is a Malaysian referral centre, but a named complex service can still sit across the valley or require Singapore. Confirm the receiving specialist and insurer territory rather than assuming any premium hospital offers every service.
