Terms of use and sale

1. Agreement to these terms

These terms apply when you browse or use SettleHappy and when you buy a SettleHappy digital product. Relevant parts also apply when an organisation asks to be listed or enters a sponsorship arrangement. By using the site, placing an order or submitting a provider enquiry, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the relevant service. Our privacy policy separately explains how personal information is handled.

2. General information, not professional advice

SettleHappy provides general educational information about moving to Southeast Asia from countries around the world. It is not regulated immigration, legal, tax, financial, medical or other professional advice, and it does not create an adviser-client relationship.

Visa eligibility, tax residence, healthcare needs, school suitability and financial decisions are personal. Confirm current rules with the relevant authority and seek qualified advice before committing money or making an irreversible decision.

3. Accuracy, estimates and updates

We aim to publish careful, source-led information and show verification dates where facts are likely to change. Even so, government rules, exchange rates, fees, school places, flight schedules and local costs can change without notice. Comparisons and scores simplify complex trade-offs and cannot predict every family's experience.

You are responsible for checking time-sensitive information against the linked official source before acting. If you spot an error, please use the contact page so we can investigate it.

4. Permitted use and intellectual property

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial relocation research, link to public pages and make fair quotations with clear attribution where permitted by law. SettleHappy's original writing, scoring methods, visual design, graphics, branding and compiled material are protected by applicable intellectual-property law.

You must not:

• republish or commercially exploit a substantial part of the site without written permission;
• misrepresent SettleHappy content as your own or remove attribution;
• scrape, probe or overload the site in a way that disrupts service or bypasses access controls;
• introduce malware, attempt unauthorised access or use the site unlawfully; or
• use our branding in a way that suggests an endorsement or partnership that does not exist.

5. Digital products and purchases

Price and secure checkout

The product page describes what is included, the compatible file types and the current base price. Checkout shows the final amount and currency before payment. Prices are tax-inclusive where stated. Stripe's Managed Payments service, presented as Onelink during checkout, processes the payment and acts as merchant of record. Its payment, tax, fraud, dispute and transaction-support terms also apply. SettleHappy provides the digital product and product-access support.

Delivery and access

After payment is confirmed, we send a private download link to the email address used at checkout. The link normally expires after seven days for security; expiry does not remove your licence to files already downloaded. Keep the purchase email and contact us from the checkout address if delivery has not arrived within 15 minutes or you need a fresh link.

Personal-use licence

A purchase gives the buying household a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download, save, print and complete the supplied files for its own family relocation planning. You may share relevant extracts privately with professionals or providers working on that move. You must not resell, publish, upload for public access, distribute as a template library or remove SettleHappy branding from the product.

Immediate supply, cancellation and refunds

By choosing immediate digital delivery at checkout, you ask for supply to begin as soon as payment is confirmed. Where the law permits, a change-of-mind cancellation right may end once download access begins after you have given the required consent and acknowledgement. We honour all mandatory cancellation, refund and digital-content rights, including remedies where files are faulty, unavailable or materially different from their description. 6. Messages and submissions

If you contact us, make sure the information you provide is lawful, accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not infringe another person's rights. Do not send passports, bank records, health information or other highly sensitive documents.

You retain ownership of your message. You give us permission to use its content as reasonably necessary to reply, investigate a correction, protect the service or improve our published information. We will not identify you publicly without permission unless the law requires it.

7. Directory listings and sponsorship

Selection and accuracy

Submitting an organisation does not guarantee a standard or sponsored listing. SettleHappy decides which services are relevant and useful to families, writes and edits the final copy, chooses the appropriate category and may correct, pause or remove an entry. The submitting organisation must provide lawful and accurate information and promptly tell us about material changes.

Sponsored visibility

A sponsored listing pays for additional visibility and presentation. It is clearly identified before the commercial copy or provider link. Sponsorship does not buy a recommendation, a higher destination score, control over SettleHappy's independent content or the removal of another provider.

The current public programme price is a starting price until the exact listing, currency, applicable tax, publication dates and payment terms are confirmed in writing. Sponsorship does not renew automatically by default. SettleHappy does not guarantee page views, clicks, enquiries, bookings, search rankings, indexing or followed backlinks.

Submitted branding and images

If an organisation supplies a logo, photograph or other asset, it confirms that it owns the asset or has permission to authorise its use for the agreed listing and promotion. It must also confirm that the necessary permissions have been obtained for every identifiable person. SettleHappy may decline an asset even when permission exists.

A listing is information for families to research, not SettleHappy certification of the provider's safety, quality, licences, staff or suitability for a particular child.

8. Third-party websites and services

The site links to government authorities, schools, transport operators and other third parties. Links are provided for context and verification; they are not a guarantee or endorsement. Third-party sites are outside our control and have their own content, terms and privacy practices.

9. Availability and changes

We may correct, update, move or withdraw content and features. We do not promise that every page will always be available or error-free. We may suspend access where reasonably needed for maintenance, security or legal compliance.

10. Responsibility and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, SettleHappy is not responsible for losses caused by relying on general information without checking current official rules, by third-party services, or by events outside our reasonable control.

If you use the site for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, anticipated savings, data or goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss, to the extent the law permits.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any mandatory consumer rights that the law where you live does not allow these terms to remove. You may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
